Fake evergreens are truly ever green

Announcement: My family has made the leap into the world of fake Christmas trees.
The benefits are environmental (less cut down trees), financial (no need to buy a new tree each year), and of course, safety (less flammable). I’m not totally convinced on the aesthetics of the situation yet, but the deed is done. Indulge me while I provide you with a photo essay on the topic.
“What’s in dis box?” she asks. Why, it’s a 7-foot Christmas tree, of course!

The tree comes with a stand. No daily watering needed!

Truth about preschoolers: If there is a place to stick their fingers, they will.
My husband assembled the tree in just a few minutes. UL Listed lights were included and pre-installed!

My 2-year old daughter was excited to touch everything (surprise!), and she hadn’t even seen the ornaments yet. The needles of the artificial tree are not nearly as sharp as a real tree, and they don’t dry out; therefore, no fire-hazard. Perhaps she will never know about freshly cut trees!

Voila! The goodies!

And done. We spent less than $100 on this tree and expect it to last five or more years. That’s a significant savings compared to buying a tree of the same size five times and having to dispose of it.

What do you think? Are you accepting of fake Christmas trees or will you be sticking with the real thing?
If you stick with the real thing, make sure to water it every night before you go to bed. Christmas tree fires are more common than you’d think.

Love the pictures Whitney. I’ll stick with my real tree for this year but maybe I’ll reconsider when they all go on sale.
I’m still deciding which is best. I used you as a reference in my blog. I hope you don’t mind.
