If you have elementary school age kids, you should click on over to the Safety Smart Super Challenge and let your kids have a go at the interactive quiz.
There are four different quiz areas including:
- Electrical Safety (find out why you shouldn’t put metal in a microwave!)
- Fire Safety (why a fire alarm doesn’t come with a snooze button)
- Home Safety (intro to stranger danger, among other topics)
- Water Safety (including swimming tips and more).
If your kid likes trivia, contests and computer games, this site is a fantastic resource for teaching basic safety concepts and making it fun.
If you live in the Chicago area, your 4th through 8th grader’s class can also tour the UL facility and watch the testers at work smashing stuff and overloading extension cords in the name of safety! How cool is that?
