Safety Back in the Day

My husband just found these in our garage. The previous owner had written a date with pencil on one of the packages. That date is 9/20/68.
I didn’t even know they had pencils back then.
I was very excited to see the huge UL Mark on the packaging. Clearly, safety was a huge concern when it came to handling glass-top fuses and the manufacturer knew that it would be important for consumers to know that the product was UL certified.
Based on the package design, doesn’t it seem that parents would spot the certification before even knowing what the brand was? You know … before they placed the product in their shopping bag and drove home without a seatbelt.
