The seal of approval for moms

First, I must confess, I was raised on a healthy dose of Twinkies and fast food and “I turned out fine” but (so far), that stuff doesn’t fly in my home. My babies are Berkeley boys so they’ve never met a piece of bread without hearty grains and whole wheat and I can frequently be found making homemade guacamole – much to my own mother’s shock.
Since becoming a mom, I’m far more concerned with the label “Certified Organic” or “USDA Organic” than I ever was before.
My sister-in-law is Jewish and her food certification of choice is Kosher. She has a huge catalog of products memorized and remembers to check for the K symbol or the U symbol without giving it a second thought.
When it comes to product safety, the UL Mark lets moms know that a baby monitor or cordless phone has been through rigorous tests and is safe for the home. As I went around my home on a hunt for the UL Mark, I was relieved to find it in so many places. Now, when I’m buying a new toy or home electronic, the UL Mark is the first thing I look for. And then, of course, the price tag!
What are some other certifications or seals of approval have you started paying attention to now that you’re a mama?

Did you ever notice that the Kosher circle “U” symbol even resembles the “UL Mark”? Don’t be confused… they’re not the same thing. That Kosher bread has not been through rigorous safety tests! And that camera is not safe for human consumption.
It seems there is a lot of infor out there about baby monitors so it was great to come across this post, very helpful, thanks
